14th Annual Artisan Christmas Show at the Simcoe County Museum, November 17 & 18.  Carol will be there with her chain mail & wire work,  and Barb with her finger rings.

Christmas Arts & Craft Show - Barrie, ON

Tugboat Festival in Midland

We will be at the Tugboat Festival August 24, 25, 26.  Along with many other artisans from 10-6 Friday and Saturday, 10-4 on Sunday, down at the Harbour in Midland.  Come and see the 30 Tugboats parade, tours, and race.

Bead and Chain Mail Woven Together!

I have been learning a new technique of mixing my two loves, Bead work and Chain Mail. This weave is called Centipede, and comes from the book Beadmaille by Cindy Thomas Pankopf.

A Few Pieces to be Juried

These are a few pieces that I have worked on to be juried into an artisan show. The "Tree of Life" is wire wrapped in copper, and used Swarovski crystals for the tree and Czech Fire Polished Crystals on the chain. The European Weave bracelet(black and silver) is made from Bright Aluminum and Anodized Aluminum with a magnetic fold over clasp. The Blue Captive Bracelet has Czech Fire Polished Crystals and finished off with a handmade S hook clasp.

Glass Vertabrae

It took me a bit to work out the ring sizes to get the look I was looking for. Using bright aluminum rings and weaving in Czech glass rings was no simple task. I decided to finish with a box clasp for a nice tighter fit.

This Chain Mail weave is called the Empress Chain. Weaved in 20 gauge stainless steel rings and using premium Japanese seed beads. They look and feel delicate and stunning. Stainless steel will not tarnish and will always stay shiny.

4 - 1 European Chain Maille with Leather Strap

I wanted my chain maille to have a new look. Got some inspiration from Tandy Leather, and this is what I got. This one is for myself, but will make some more and post them in the Artfire.

Flower Scale Chainmaille

This is a new weave that Carol has learned called Scalemaille. You can make these beautiful flowers out of Anodized Aluminum. In this picture, a flower is attached to a Byzantine Chainmaille Weave.

Garter Belt Chain Mail Weave.

This is a new chain mail weave we are learning. It is called Garter Belt Weave. Made with 3 different size rings. These pics were made into bracelets, but can be made into a necklace as well. Imagine larger rings and making a beautiful belt for those special jeans!

Copper Mobius Bracelet

Made from raw copper! Over time, copper will tarnish, but it is said that the black is antioxidants from the body. To clean, just soak in lemon juice for a few minutes then rinse and pat dry. Order online!

Chainmail

I have been getting creative with my chainmail. The necklace is using Brass Rings and Ruby Swarovski Crystals. The watches are made with Aluminum rings and embellished with glass beads. The byzantine bracelet is made from brass rings. All of these can be custom sized. Order online
